Institution for human rights among new entities announced.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced new federal committees and councils. This came as he chaired 2020’s last Cabinet meeting on Monday.

Here are the key announcements:
>> A new institution for human rights has been set up. The institution will ensure human rights are upheld in the country, and will cooperate with all entities locally and internationally to maintain the UAE’s ranking in this field.
>> An executive office will combat money laundering. It will report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
>> A National Entrepreneurship Council will be headed by Ahmed Behloul.
>> Council for coordination of local and federal financial policies set up.
>> New steps approved to protect the UAE’s environment. Sheikh Mohammed said: “Climate change is the biggest global challenge. Combatting it needs continuous efforts.”
>> Judicial coordination council approved. It will be headed by Sultan Al Badi.
>> New regulations to protect monuments and train Emiratis in archeology exploration.
