Temporary Suspension Of Flights And Change In PCR Test Requirements
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait have closed their borders until further notice with immediate effect.
Due to travel restrictions, Etihad Airways is suspending its passenger services between Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Saudi Arabia, Muscat (MCT) and Kuwait (KWI).
This is to limit the spread of covid-19, based on the directives of the respective authorities.
A company spokesperson said, “The safety of our customers and crew is Etihad’s highest priority and we regret any inconvenience the suspension may cause. We will work closely with impacted guests to notify them of the suspension and help them rearrange their travel plans.”
A change has also been announced into the Covid-19 PCR test requirements for flying into Abu Dhabi. Currently, people travelling into Abu Dhabi need to have a negative Covid-19 PCR test done no more than 96 hours prior to their flight’s departure, unless they are flying from the United Kingdom to Abu Dhabi, where a negative Covid-19 PCR test needs to be done no more 72 hours before the flight’s departure. This change for flights from the United Kingdom comes into effect from the 24 December 2020.
