Quebec provincial police have opened a homicide investigation following the discovery Friday of a body in the Laurentians town of Ste-Sophie.
“We can confirm that the event in Ste-Sophie is now considered a homicide,” the Sûreté du Québec said Saturday in an emailed statement.
The victim is Patrick Rhéaume, 49, from Laval. Terrebonne police discovered his body Friday around 11 a.m. on Rolland St. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where his death was confirmed.
A security perimeter has been put in place on Rolland St.
