Competition: League Two
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 3/4 @ 888sport
In a matchup that could see a string of chances on Tuesday night, a high-flying Morecambe will make the trip to the University of Bolton Stadium in midweek.
Starting with the hosts, while Bolton might have mounted a stunning comeback over the weekend, it was a disappointing Boxing Day performance by the Whites. Although they might have come from three goals down to snatch a dramatic point off of Carlisle on the road, Ian Evatt’s men have really struggled to find much stability so far this season. Still battling it out in the bottom half of the table, despite being seen as a League Two title contender over the summer, Bolton have managed to win just one of their previous five fourth-tier contests after finding a bounce last month. Now shipping a trio of strikes in their back-to-back appearances, Evatt will be desperate for his side to find some much-needed form on home soil. Including a woeful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Tranmere last time out at the University of Bolton Stadium, the Whites also played out that stunning nine-goal thriller against Port Vale earlier in the month.
As for the visitors, despite falling 1-0 down at home against Grimsby on Boxing Day, Morecambe once again impressed in Lancashire. Eventually claiming a 3-1 victory against the relegation scrappers, Derek Adams’ men find themselves enjoying a real December purple patch. Continuing to skyrocket their way up the League Two table and with a promotion charge at the top of their agenda, the Shrimps open Tuesday’s fixtures sat just two points adrift of breaking into the automatic spots. Enjoying a recent flurry in front of goal, the former Plymouth boss has seen his squad win each of their last four League Two contests on the bounce. Also, last seen on their travels picking up a 2-1 victory against Colchester, it should also be noted that each of Morecambe’s last three fourth-tier appearances on the bounce have finished with both teams finding the net.
Bet: Both teams to score at Bolton vs Morecambe 3/4 for Tuesday’s League Two contest @ 888sport
