Tottenham may not have won in four but will be hopeful for a quick turnaround in form with two favourable home games back-to-back. Fulham travel to the new White Hart Lane before Leeds make the same trip.
Scott Parker’s side have greatly improved since the start of the season but this still feels like a fixture where Kane could do some damage, even if he is without an attacking return in his last three games.
While Mohamed Salah disappointed the many managers who captained him for the 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion, Mané at least delivered a goal to make good on his promising underlying numbers.
Mané has been overlooked by many this season – understandably so, after going eight without a goal – but may finally be coming into form after scoring two in two. Steve Bruce and Newcastle should be worried.
Leeds’ defence is unpredictable. After conceding six at Old Trafford before Christmas, they kept a clean sheet against Burnley on their return. They have conceded the joint-most goals in the top flight.
The likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Luke Ayling – when not playing centre-back – offer attacking threat. The best bet is Dallas, who turns up in midfield every now and again and carries the most goal threat of any fantasy defender and could punish West Bromwich.
Back to Liverpool, whose defence let us down by conceding that late Semi Ajayi equaliser. Clean sheet points may be hard to predict but there’s reason to keep faith with the pair of ultra-attacking full-backs.
Both Robertson or Trent Alexander-Arnold remain tempting picks, even at their steep £7.2m price tag. Either could profit against a Newcastle side that is uninspiring in attack and will leave gaps in defence.
Vardy’s ‘assist’ for Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal on Boxing Day meant that he has only blanked once in his last six games. He may not jump off the page in the underlying numbers but he is nevertheless threatening to be considered a premium fantasy asset.
There’s every chance this excellent form could continue away to Crystal Palace, who shipped seven in their last home game and were comfortably beaten by Aston Villa at the weekend. Vardy has a double gameweek on the horizon, too.
