A southwest Calgary pizza restaurant was ordered to halt its dine-in food service after the inspector found a buffet in operation.
The Little Tavern Pizza Project, located at 5-5555 Strathcona Hill S.W. was ordered to close its dining room on Dec. 23.
The inspector’s report noted that the operator was providing dine-in food service, and patrons from different households were seated less than 2 metres apart.
The inspector also noted the diners had been provided with a “self-service buffet” and alcohol.
Alberta announced a mandatory closure of all dine-in service at restaurants, pubs, bars, lounges and cafes on Dec. 13. At the time, Premier Jason Kenney said the closures were intended to last for at least one month, in the hopes of bringing down the number of daily COVID-19 cases.
Restaurants can continue to provide take-away and delivery service during this time.
