A public safety alert has been issued after plastic bottles containing a “hazardous” substance were discovered in a Scarborough park on Friday.
Toronto Police say several two-litre plastic bottles containing an unknown white substance were found in McCowan District Park — south of McCowan Rd. and Eglinton Ave. E. — on a hill northwest of the skating rink around 1:30 p.m.
Const. Edward Parkes said Saturday morning that the substance had not yet been identified.
However, it’s considered combustible, hazardous and should not be touched.
If any more suspicious bottles are found, contact police immediately at 416-808-4300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
