BC Ferries has cancelled nearly all afternoon and night sailings to and from Vancouver Island on Tuesday as an “extreme weather system” strikes into place.
On Monday, Environment Canada issued wind warnings for components of Vancouver Island and the British Columbia coast, whereas snowfall warnings are in place within the jap Interior.
The division forecasts robust winds for many of Vancouver Island, the southern Gulf Islands, Haida Gwaii, Sunshine Coast, Central Coast and North Coast.
It says a powerful Pacific entrance will method Haida Gwaii in a single day Monday and convey winds with gusts of 90 to 110 kilometres per hour to the North Coast, Central Coast and North Vancouver Island by Tuesday.
