The result is richer sound, crisper notes, and deeper bass than previous versions, which weren’t quite as able to fill an entire room, or small apartment, with sound.  In tests, the new Echo Dot has done very well handling higher volume; you get none of the screechiness that some speakers carry when things get loud. And if you want to get specific, this Echo Dot offers some controls through its app for sound elements like treble and bass. This is a lot of speaker for its tiny size.
