Bergevin spoke with Marinaro before news broke that Juulsen has been claimed by the Panthers. The GM was asked if Juulsen is not the same player he was since the injury.
“He hasn’t played … he’s played one game (with the Canadiens) since the injury,” Bergevin said. “It’s hard for me to tell you if he is or not. He’s doing good so far in practice, scrimmage, he looks fine. Those issues are behind him, but he needs some mileage. Like I said, he’s played one game in the last, God, almost two years. So he needs mileage and he needs to play.”
The other players the Canadiens put on waivers Sunday were goalie Charlie Lindgren, forwards Jordan Weal, Brandon Baddock, Alex Belzile, Joseph Blandisi and Laurent Dauphin, along with defencemen Xavier Ouellet and Gustav Olofsson.
