More than 22.5 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the UAE so far.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Tuesday reported 3,243 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 2,195 recoveries and six deaths.
The new cases were detected through addtional 151,480 tests.
The UAE has conducted over 22.5 million tests till date as part of the country’s massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19.

The total number of cases in UAE as on January 12 stand at 236,225 while total recoveries are 210,561. Death toll rises to 717.

On Tuesday, it was announced that travellers to the UK from the UAE will now have to self-isolate for 10 day as the country has been taken off the travel corridors list.
The decision has been implemented from 4am Tuesday.
Under existing rules, passengers arriving from all international destinations to the UK are required to present a negative Covid-19 test result taken up to three days before departing for England or Scotland.
Meanwhile, the UAE has intensified the Covid-19 vaccination campaign ahead of re-opening of onsite classes of schools on January 17. The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, has set up three dedicated vaccination centres in Fujairah and Ajman for teachers and school administrative staff to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
The centres will administer the jabs to all teachers, employees of private and government educational institutions and students aged over 18 years.
The vaccines are available for free at the centres for two weeks.
