CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago-based United Airlines introduced Thursday that forward of the presidential inauguration subsequent week, weapons is not going to be allowed in checked baggage on flights going to the Washington, D.C. space.
From Saturday, Jan. 16 by means of Saturday, Jan. 23, United is not going to be permitting checked firearms on flights to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, or Richmond International Airport, except for credentialed regulation enforcement officers or active-duty navy members touring on orders.
United may also be maintaining crews in lodges exterior downtown Washington, D.C., and actively monitoring the necessity to relocate crews in different cities.
Staffing may also be elevated at different Washington, D.C.-area airports, and the airline will stay involved with regulation enforcement on the federal, state, and native space.
The airline’s masks coverage may also be enforced. United famous that it has banned about 615 folks for noncompliance since final spring, and about 60 had been banned the week of Jan. 4.
American Airlines can also be banning weapons in checked luggage on flights to D.C. space airports except for credentialed regulation enforcement personnel and active-duty navy members touring on orders.
