Enforcement of COVID-19 rules and their related punishments should be increased in the wake of the second wave. Specifically the wearing of masks in all public places, whether indoors or outdoors should be strictly enforced.
The use of masks protects both the person wearing the mask and those around them. People who choose not to wear a mask should be fined to the highest degree with increasing penalties for repeated offences.
In addition people found abusing the rules of the maximum number of people allowed at an indoor event should also be fined, along with those in attendance.
If people do not want to wear masks they should not leave their house and endanger others. Hopefully, these measures will help stop the spread of COVID-19, keep us safe and allow us to return to some sense of normality.
