The Kansas City Chiefs hoped to get running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire back into the lineup on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, but it looks like their hopes have been crushed.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Edwards-Helaire faces an “uphill battle” to play against the Browns on Sunday.
The 21-year-old missed the final weeks of the regular season with an ankle injury and also was listed on this week’s injury report with a hip issue. He missed practice on Thursday and Friday.
Edwards-Helaire appeared in 13 games, carrying the ball for 803 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 36 receptions for 297 yards and a score.
Le’Veon Bell, Darrell Williams, and Darwin Thompson are the other running backs for the Chiefs.
