The Sûreté du Québec continued its search Sunday night for a man who disappeared Saturday while travelling by snowmobile from Rigaud, in the Montérégie region, to Île-Bizard.
SQ spokesperson Claude Denis said earlier Sunday the SQ was using a helicopter during the day to search for the 54-year-old man, who disappeared around 11 a.m. Saturday.
The search area Sunday included the Lake of Two Mountains, which the man might have tried to cross. Denis said the search on Saturday included a check of area hospitals.
The SQ also checked phone towers in an unsuccessful attempt to locate the man’s cellphone.
SQ officials said Sunday night that reports that the man’s body had been found were false.
