If exemption granted, Quebecers could fake homelessness to avoid tickets – Legault
Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Premier François Legault said he’s encouraged by the recent decline in new cases.
Over the past week, Quebec has gone from about 2,500 new cases per day to about 2,000, Legault said.
“We’ve seen encouraging signs in recent days,” Legault said.
But “we have to be cautious, it’s (only) been a week.”
Legault also called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to ban all non-essential international flights.
He said he understands there could be essential travel – visiting a sick parent in the United States, for example.
“But going to an all-inclusive with buffets and having parties around the pool. I’m sorry, but that’s not essential,” Legault said.
