Hollywood has turned on the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer star after she demanded removal from classic John Hughes films if outgoing U.S. leader Donald Trump is edited out of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Democratic critics of the Republican President have suggested his brief cameo in the Home Alone sequel should be cut as a protest against the property tycoon-turned-politician’s controversial four years in power – and even the film’s star, Macaulay Culkin, is on board.
But some of Trump’s celebrity supporters are against the edit, with actress Kristy Swanson, who played the titular role in 1992’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, calling on her cameos in Pretty in Pink and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to be cut if Hollywood digitally removes her pick for president.
“If Cancel Culture is really going to have Donald J. Trump removed from the John Hughes movie Home Alone, then in support of MY PRESIDENT, I’d like to have myself officially removed from the John Hughes’ films, Pretty In Pink and Ferris Buhler’s Day Off,” she tweeted.
