Al Maryah Island Launches Sports Destination
Al Maryah Island launches a new hub for sports and recreational activities called ‘Active’. The new facility includes three outdoor football fields, four tennis courts and four multipurpose courts.
‘Active’ is partnered with Zayed Sports City and is situated on the north side of Al Maryah Island.
The new facility will offer the opportunity for people to use all the sports equipment and facilities offered. Coaches and trainers are being employed to ensure athletes and fitness enthusiasts attain all the goals they set.
The multipurpose courts can also be used to play basketball, netball, volleyball and handball.
‘Active’ is set to Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi programme, City Football Schools, and the La Liga Academy on its fields.
The four tennis courts offer an ATP approved surface for tennis matches and lessons with Zayed Sports City Academy.
Additional facilities will be added in May this year, including three padel courts and an indoor air-conditioned sports dome with a FIFA approved turf pitch and a spectator area for indoor events.
