On Tuesday, the model tweeted that she was “happy packing for inauguration” to which one user replied: “Hey Chrissy DC residents aren’t very ‘happy’ right now and can’t even ‘happy pack’ their cars to drive to the grocery store because of the military state the city is in but yeah LOL come on down especially in a pandemic. How happy!!!”
The 34-year-old replied to one critical comment, tweeting: “This is not my fault but I’m sorry you’re frustrated. I just like to share what we are up to and whatnot.”
But Teigen’s initial tweet prompted hundreds of similarly critical comments, with people urging her to “be careful” and to consider leaving the children at home.
One person questioned why it was necessary for Teigen to travel across state lines (the couple lives in California) in order to watch her husband perform.
“Literally no one will be there to see him perform, because no one is allowed to,” the Twitter user wrote.
“Why couldn’t he do a virtual performance and also why does his whole family have to go when literally no one can move about the city? Like…yeah, exactly. She should turn the TV on…”
Teigen replied again, writing: “For f***s sake why are you guys always always mad at me, all I wanna do is make you happy or at least leave you with a neutral feeling of indifference.”
However, not everyone was critical of the model, with some fans simply sharing their excitement at watching Legend perform.
“I, for one, enjoy seeing happy tweets at all times and ESPECIALLY when I am having a rough time. Gotta look at the positive!” tweeted one person.
Another added: “You’re great @chrissyteigen – everyone’s situation is completely different. Keep doing you. You’re in masks being safe. I love you and @johnlegend.”
