The most recent Kyrie Irving saga appears close to its conclusion.
Irving was last seen on an NBA court on January 5th, having missed Brooklyn’s last seven games with what the team broadly deemed as “personal reasons.” People began to question the absence when, among other things, Irving appeared on a politician’s Zoom call the same night the Nets were hosting the Denver Nuggets. Still, the team remained steadfast in support of Irving, even as the number of missed games piled up. Brooklyn’s blockbuster deal for James Harden led many to speculate that Irving’s time in NYC would soon be coming to an end. But it seems the mercurial star is once again ready to play ball, with head coach Steve Nash saying that Irving will return to action on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. It will be the first time that Brooklyn’s new big three will all be on the court at the same time.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Irving is no stranger to helping a team win its first title, having played a major role in the aforementioned Cavs’ championship run. During those Finals, Irving averaged 27.1 PPG, second only to LeBron James. So with that in mind, how many “second fiddles” from every NBA championship team in the modern era can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
