Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu and top officials from the security forces are expected to discuss the matter with the home minister, ET has learnt.
According to home ministry officials, Chinese forces have built 101RC concrete houses for their military personnel near Maja in upper Subansiri district of Arunachal. Officials said the area has been under Chinese control since 1959 but due to ethnic similarity across LAC, people on both sides of the village have strong historical, cultural and economic links.
The area is dominated by the Tagin tribe, one of the major tribes of Arunachal, they added. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had earlier this week said that it was aware about the construction along the LAC and raised the matter with their Chinese counterparts.
