NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There was a police-involved shooting in the Bronx on Thursday evening.
The NYPD says the shooting took place near East 233rd Street and Barnes Avenue in the Wakefield section Thursday evening.
According to the FDNY, units were sent to the area around 6:15 p.m. for reports of an arrest.
ADVISORY: Please avoid the area of East 233rd Street and Barnes Avenue in the Bronx due to a police-involved shooting. Expect a large police presence in the surrounding area.

The FDNY says one patient was taken to Jacobi Hospital. That person’s condition is unknown.
