LYONS, Ill. (CBS) — A person was found dead in the Des Plaines River in Lyons Sunday following the discovery of a submerged vehicle.
Illinois State Police said they were called at 8:22 a.m. for a vehicle in the river near Ogden Avenue in Lyons. A photo from the scene showed a car that was partially submerged.

A search of the river followed, and a dead body was also later found, state police said.
The investigation remained in progress Saturday afternoon and further information was not available.
