Montreal police have turned to the public in an effort to identify a man suspected of assaulting two women because of their sexual orientation.
The incident occurred in August 2020 in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie.
The morning of Aug. 1, two women were walking hand in hand along Bélanger St. When they reached the corner of St-Hubert St. around 10:20 a.m., the couple found themselves near the suspect.
After first continuing on his way, police say the man turned around at spat twice at the women. Then, without saying a word, he left the scene, according to police.
The suspect is black male, 25 to 30 years old, and stands about 5 feet, 6 inches tall.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue shirt with rectangular designs and grey sports pants.
