The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported 31 new cases of COVID-19 and an additional five deaths Saturday.
The deaths included two women and one man all in their 70s and from the community as well as a woman in her 60s and a man in his 80s from long term care/retirement home.
The Windsor-Essex Region has now seen 316 deaths from the pandemic and 12,040 cases overall.
Of the 31 new cases, 10 are outbreak related, six are community spread, five are close contacts with a confirmed case and 10 are still under investigation.
There are 72 people hospitalized and outbreaks at 18 workplaces and 17 long-term case and retirement homes.
A total of 11,120 cases are considered resolved.
