Posting a picture of the family of three, Anushka said, “We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level! Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”
Ever since the couple announced the name of their first-born, people have been taking to Google searching the meaning of the name. Many may think the name is just the clever combination been derived from her parents’ names — the first letter ‘V’ being taken from father Virat and the last two letters ‘ka’ derived from her mother’s name Anushka
However, a Times of India report mentioned that the name has a deep-rooted meaning in the Hindu mythology. The true meaning of the name is the female half of the Ardhanarishvara. As per the report, Ardhanarishvara is a composite form of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati wherein, Shiva forms the right side of the body while Parvati forms the left side, and together it symbolises a world in perfect harmony.
Going by some other media reports, it has been stated that astrologers have explained the name Vamika as a Sanskrit same for Goddess Durga.
Anushka’s Instagram post has since then received over 4.2 million likes. Congratulatory messages have been pouring on her account, wishing the couple and the baby good health and happiness.
