What I don’t understand is how these decisions to close business A down, but allow business B to stay open are being made because they are “essential”?
The LCBO remains open; people make jokes about how “essential” alcohol is, but that’s not more essential than a restaurant, barber shop or a fitness facility.
The convenience store on the corner is still open (good for them), but how are they “essential”? Because they sell bread and cigarettes?
Please stop shutting down all these businesses. They are essential to their families and to our communities. Many have already had to close their doors permanently after the first shut down and sadly I’m sure many more will suffer the same fate this time.
When all is said and done, this will have a lasting, negative impact on our communities.
For those of us still employed count your blessings. While you’re at it, find a way to help out your local businesses now or when (if) they reopen.
