Another person injured in a house fire on Church Street Sunday night has died.
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services on Tuesday announced an adult woman who had been rescued from the burning home has since succumbed to her injuries.
The woman and an adult man had been transported to hospital after fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire conditions in the street’s 400 block at around 9:15 p.m. The man, who was 59 years old, reportedly died of his injuries on Monday.
The Windsor Police Service arson unit and major crimes unit are investigating the fire.
Investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office also examined the scene with local officials on Monday and Tuesday.
The fire’s cause, origin, and estimated damages have not yet been determined.
Police on Monday that asked anyone with surveillance cameras in the area at the time of the fire check their footage for possible evidence.
