Ras Al Khaimah has announced several new restrictions in keeping with a fresh directive aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19 in the emirate.
The move involves reducing the operating capacities across various commercial establishments and public spaces, as follows:
> Public beaches and parks to 70 per cent
> Shopping malls to 60 per cent
> Public transportation to 50 per cent
> Cinemas, entertainment events and venues to 50 per cent
> Fitness centres and gyms to 50 per cent
> Pools and private beaches at hotels to 50 per cent
The decision also moves to limit the number of individuals allowed at family and social gatherings (such as weddings) to a maximum of 10 people, while funerals are allowed to have a maximum of 20 attendees.
All members of the public must maintain a physical distance of 2 metres in public.
Restaurants and cafés are also required to maintain a 2-metre distance between tables, where no more than four people are allowed to sit together, unless they belong to the same family.
Authorities urged members of the public to avoid complacency with regard to following the mandatory precautionary measures put in place.
