The shift to e-learning will apply to all students in the emirate, including those in nursery schools.
Sharjah has announced 100 per cent distance learning for all public and private schools starting Sunday until February 28.
The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) on Thursday confirmed that this shift to e-learning will apply to all students in the emirate, including those in nursery schools.
The decision has been taken as part Covid precautionary measures and after the approval of the emirate’s local emergency, crisis and disaster management team (ECDMT), SPEA director Ali Al Hosani told Khaleej Times.
Al Hosani said he is confident that the shift to 100 per cent distance learning would be smooth, considering that all Sharjah schools are well equipped for virtual classes. Since last year, 90 per cent of students in the emirate have been studying remotely.
Besides Sharjah, Ajman has also moved to full-time distance learning, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
