The number of positive COVID-19 cases jumped up on Saturday with 60 new cases confirmed, according to the latest numbers released by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
There were also another three deaths reported connected to the virus — two women in their 70s from the community and one woman in her 90s who was a resident of long-term care.
Among the new cases listed were 15 that are outbreak-related, seven that were close contacts of confirmed cases, six that were acquired in the community, while 32 cases remain still under investigation.
There have now been a total of 12,530 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Windsor area with 355 deaths.
There remain 288 cases that are currently active with 33 of those listed as being hospitalized.
There are eight workplaces listed as being under virus outbreak and seven long-term care facilities.
Windsor Regional Hospital also announced Saturday that all COVID-19 outbreaks at its two facilities have now been rescinded.

The remaining outbreak on 8 West (8W) of the Ouellette campus is over and there are no current outbreaks identified at either of its two campuses.
All patients will continue to be tested for COVID-19 before admission into hospital, whether they are symptomatic or not, hospital officials said.
Across Ontario, there were 1,300 new COVID-19 cases confirmed on Saturday according to the health ministry. It was the highest number of single-day cases since Feb. 7 when 1,489 new cases were reported.
There were also 19 more deaths related to the virus overall across the province.
As of 8:00 p.m. on Friday, 456,947 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ontario, according to health minister Christine Elliott.
