We have every intention of returning to our favorite salons and spas. As we’ve ventured out to some of
them in the past few months—hello, Tracey Cunningham Salon and Surya Spa in LA, Sally Hershberger Salon and Marie
Robinson in New York, and the epic new outpost of The Well spa at the Mayflower Inn in Washington,
Connecticut—they’ve impressed us with meticulously followed COVID safety guidelines and social-distancing measures.
Still, in the spirit of avoiding nonessential exposures, we’re managing some upkeep and maintenance ourselves. These
routines, tips, and tricks should keep you looking good and feeling indulged while we wait this one out just a
little longer—with the glowiest skin, shiniest hair, healthiest nails, and sleekest bikini line, all taken care of
at home.

Detoxifying Steamer
Holding your face over the gentle stream of warm steam feels heavenly, and it helps deep-clean pores, so that
any serum or cream you smooth on after—morning or night—penetrates more effectively.Dr. Dennis Gross

Exfoliating Mask
The best way to get your glowiest skin is by exfoliating. Inspired by in-office microdermabrasion treatments,
this gentle whipped scrub polishes away oil, dead cells, and grime with a combination of microcrystals and
glycolic acid, while a blend of moisturizing essential oils leaves skin brighter and smoother. We love
smoothing it in after steaming (or during a hot shower).goop Beauty

Depuffing Eye Mask
When you wake up your eyes, you wake up your entire face. These fit comfortably over the whole undereye area
and don’t drip, so you can go about your business—leave them on for about ten minutes to let the blend of
prebiotics and hydrating oils go to work making you look like the most well-rested version of yourself.
(Makeup artist Jillian Dempsey created them to use on celebrity clients before red carpet events, so trust
that their make-you-look-better powers are very real.)Jillian Dempsey

Easiest Trim
Unless you’re a hairstylist, aim for a subtle refresh with a trim rather than a full-on new cut. Start with
damp hair and trim slowly in the smallest sections possible. (Read this Ask Jean for more details on how to
trim.) These scissors are easy to use and professional-hairstylist-level precise.FROMM

Treatments for a Noticeable Difference

Just like skin, the scalp benefits from exfoliation. Use this geranium-and-peppermint-scented scrub once
a week to smooth away oil and product buildup; it’s made with big chunks of Himalayan pink salt that feel
invigorating as you work in the luxuriously lathering, whipped formula. It leaves your scalp utterly
refreshed and your hair smooth, soft, and nourished.goop Beauty

Bikini-Line Maintenance
Whether you’re a minimalist or a maximalist, here’s how to keep the skin and hair in your bikini area
smooth, silky, and free of ingrowns.
-
Ingrown-Fighting Scrub
The bikini area is prone to ingrown hairs because pubic hair tends to be thicker than hair elsewhere, and
going over the area with a gentle scrub a few times a week in the shower makes a
big difference. We love this brilliant mask from Fur
that sloughs away dead skin with jojoba beads and fruit enzymes as it moisturizes with clary sage oil.Fur

Softening Pubic-Hair Oil
You can’t imagine the miracle workings of this oil until you start regularly smoothing it over your pubic
hair and the surrounding skin—do it after a shower or bath, when skin and hair are both damp and more
absorbent. The blend of jojoba and tea tree oils and vitamins softens hair to make it more manageable and
calms and clarifies skin. (One goop editor swears that using the oil consistently makes waxing about 50
percent less painful, whether you’re doing it yourself at home or going to a professional.)Fur

The (Easy, Glowy) Self-Tan
We love how we look when we’ve gotten a little sun, and amazingly, it now takes minutes and no skill
to replicate that glow without the sun damage.
-
Invisible Tanning Water
This is hands down our favorite self-tanner, clean or not. It is clear—so there’s no residue or streaking
onto white sheets or dresses—blends seamlessly, smells like nothing, and dries instantly, and the color is
just the most natural there is. (Note: The mitt is the key to the perfect, even finish.)-

Smooth Splotches with Moisturizer
Dry areas like elbows, tops of toes, knees, and ankles tend to take in more self-tanner, which can create
splotches, so dab a bit of rich cream on those spots either right before or right after applying
self-tanner.goop Beauty
