A system issue resulted in 33 positive cases that should have been reported on Tuesday being included in Wednesday’s infection count, said health unit CEO Theresa Marentette. The remaining 43 cases would have been reported on Wednesday regardless of the issue.
Twelve of the 76 cases are close contacts of people who previously tested positive, 14 are related to outbreaks, 14 are attributed to community spread, and two are travel-related. The sources of transmission for the remaining 34 cases are still under investigation by Windsor-Essex County Health Unit staff.
