Two Canada-based researchers on Wednesday urged governments to delay administering the second dose of Pfizer Inc’s Covid-19 vaccine, which they said had an efficacy of 92.6% after the first dose, as it was not significantly beneficial in the short term.
The duo posited the postponement of the second dose is a matter of national security, given the current vaccine shortage.
Meanwhile, a team of eight nurses from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has flown to the US to spend six weeks with caregivers on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The initiative highlights international confidence in Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector and is in line with the UAE’s continuous efforts to provide assistance to other countries around the world.
