World of Warcraft’s newest expansion, Shadowlands, is getting its first massive content update.
According to Polygon, Patch 9.1’s Chains of Domination is on its way later this year. It’s a hearty new content drop meant to kick off a fight against the Jailer, Shadowlands’ primary antagonist.
Members of both the Horde and Alliance need to work together to root out the source of the Jailer’s terrifying power. While doing so in Chains of Domination, they’ll find something even more sinister.
The update introduces a new location called Korthia, the City of Secrets, rife with new quests and activities. There’s a new 10-boss raid in the Sanctum of Domination, and a massive eight-boss dungeon to battle through in Tazavesh, the Veiled Market. The final Sanctum of Domination boss happens to be Sylvanas Windrunner, a confrontation that’s been expected since the Battle for Azeroth expansion dropped.
As if all that weren’t enough to keep players busy, this update also includes a new Shadowlands raid as well as more PvP content and other miscellaneous dungeons. There’s a veritable cornucopia of new reasons to head back into World of Warcraft’s Shadowlands. It’s all free as part of your monthly subscription as well, so there’s no need to purchase anything if you already own Shadowlands.
There’s no projected release date for Chains of Domination just yet. Additional details will likely emerge as BlizzCon 2021 stretches on.
