Mumbai Police on Saturday (February 20) increased the security around Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, following Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole’s threat to disrupt the shoot of Big B and Akshay Kumar’s film if they fail to tweet against the rising fuel prices. According to a report in ANI, a police car and two police officers were stationed outside the ‘Deewar’ actor’s house Jalsa. Senior Bachchan’s security guards were also commissioned along with the added security, the report added.
Mumbai Police stepped up the security around the B-town megastar’s home after Patole questioned his silence over the steep rise in fuel price. The Congress leader, while addressing the media, said that the workers will show ‘black flags’ to the tinsel town celebs when their films are released. Patole addressed Big B and Akshay Kumar as ‘Kagaz Ke Sher’ and said that they are not real heroes. He added that they would have taken a stand for the people if they were real-life heroes.
“We haven’t stepped back. We’ll show black flags to them whenever their films are released or when we spot them. We’ll follow democratic ways,” the Maha Congress chief was quoted as saying by ANI.
Patol launched a fresh attack on the two Bollywood biggies and said that the party would continue to protest against them in a ‘democratic way’.
The Congress leader had earlier slammed Bachchan and Kumar for not speaking against the BJP government for increasing the fuel prices. He lashed out at the celebrities, who had criticized the Manmohan Singh government over the fuel price hike in the past, for not saying anything against PM Modi led government, which has increased the petrol and diesel prices exorbitantly in the last few days.
