ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (CBS) — Four people are dead following a crash on Illinois Route 53 near Kirchhoff Road in Rolling Meadows Saturday night.
According to Illinois State Police, just after 11:30 p.m. a 32-year-old man driver of a black Jeep traveling north on Route 53 veered off the road to the right and struck a stationary Ford Fiesta on the right shoulder.

The impact forced both vehicles to cross all lanes of traffic and stop on the left shoulder of the road.

The driver of the Jeep was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and three passengers of the Ford all died. They were identified Stacy Harris, 45, and Herlanda Harris, 47, of Chicago – as well as a 17-year-old boy from Schaumburg and a 6-year-old boy from Chicago whose names have not been released.

All lanes of Interstate 53 northbound were closed afterward for an investigation.
