Taking a note of sudden surge in the number of Coronavirus case in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday ordered strict preventive guidelines including enforcement of face masks and social distancing.
Captain Amarinder Singh reportedly chaired a high-level virtual meeting taking a stock of the Covid-19 situation in his state. Noticing the rising trend of cases in the state, the CM ordered to enforce restrictions on the strength of a crowd at a place. According to the new guidelines, the number of people allowed to assemble indoors is 100, while a maximum of 200 are permitted to gather outside. The restriction on the indoor and outdoor gathering of people will come into effect from March 1.
The decision on reducing occupancy in cinema theatres is yet to be taken. The CM said the he will monitor the situation and take the decision after March 1. Meanwhile, it is must for the private offices and restaurants to now show the details of last tests done for all employees.
In an official statement, the Chief Minister’s Office said, “Captain Amarinder Singh ordered mandatory testing of 15 contacts per positive case, with monitoring to be done by CPTOs and review to be undertaken by the Health Department.”
In addition to these guidelines, Singh directed the authorised District Collectors to impose night curfew in hotspots in their respective districts. He asked the police administration to ensure strict enforcement of face masks and social distancing at all restaurants, marriage places.
