Wales assistant coach Neil Jenkins has pinpointed his side’s discipline as the key to winning amid an “edge” and “confrontation” between the sides, but Eddie Jones maintains his side are cautious about the potential for Alun Wyn Jones to wind up his players: “At times, he (Alun Wyn Jones) has targeted players in our team. We’ve spoken about him and we understand what he will be trying to do. It’s just about making sure we maintain our composure and our control.”
But Jenkins has denied that would be the case: “I don’t think so. The game is the game. Things are going to happen, people get on edge, there are going to be confrontations. That’s the reality. There is going to be edge tomorrow, there is no doubting that, but the reality is we have got to keep our discipline as well, keep 15 players on the pitch, back our systems and not give England easy ins. I have no doubt there are going to be some altercations, but let’s hope they are disciplined ones and it’s not on our side, anyway. You have got to have a disciplined edge. Any Wales-England game is huge. It’s what it is all about. It’s a game like no other.”

Wales 17-11 England, 38 minutes
England are playing with the look of a team that have suffered an injustice or two, intensity raised and hackles up. Tom Curry flies through the air to charge down a clearing kick and Ben Youngs pounces with a clever little lift beyond Louis Rees-Zammit, who shepherds the ball into touch where Ken Owens will throw a pressure lineout.

TRY! Wales 17-11 ENGLAND (Anthony Watson, 36 minutes)
England hit back! That Sinckler carry left Wales severly short on the right with English numbers arriving around the corner, but they need only two pairs of hands to convert the opportunity. Ben Youngs finds Jamie George, who gives a nice pass to the quicker man in Anthony Watson and asks the wing to add the finishing touches.
There is still a little bit for Watson to do but he slips out of a tackle and sees off the two arriving Welsh tacklers to keep the ball free and get over the line. Owen Farrell can’t convert.

Wales 17-6 England, 35 minutes
England maul nicely but are eventually stopped, Ben Youngs having to reach deep into the bodies blindly to retrieve the ball. Owen Farrell carries hard and Kyle Sinckler harder still to get over the gain-line, and opportunities present themselves to the right…

Wales 17-6 England, 34 minutes
Wales try to clear their lines with a box kick after a single carry from the back of the scrum but Wyn Jones advances from an offside position after Kieran Hardy’s kick (which might have flicked a hand, thus rendering him onside), and England kick the penalty towards the corner.

Wales 17-6 England, 33 minutes
Crikey. Eddie Jones and Owen Farrell are hardly shrinking violets when the sun is shining and all is well, so things couole be pretty explosive should Wales hold on from here.
England work their own attacking pattern that is ended by a knock-on from Elliot Daly after a nifty move through the 10-12 axis.

TRY! WALES 17-6 England (Liam Williams, 29 minutes)
IT IS GIVEN! That is a baffling decision. Louis Rees-Zammit clearly knows he has knocked it on, not even attempting to get after the loose ball, and Liam Williams picks it up and scores more out of practice than with any designs on a try.
But the officiating team rule that Rees-Zammit knocked it down on to his legs from which it then travelled forwards, bizarrely, despite it quite clearly moving forward from his hands with no attempt to drop it to the boot, but the try stands, Dan Biggar converts, and Wales extend their lead.

Wales 10-6 England, 29 minutes
This time it is Jonny Hill causing problems for Hardy as he bursts through the lineout to disrupt Welsh possession, but they hang on to the ball and attack again.
Fine handling from Adam Beard and Taulupe Faletau allow Wales to make speedy passage down the right, and Louis Rees-Zammit is then after a grubber through on the left with advantage coming. He’s knocked that on, surely, before Liam Williams can pick it up and score? A try is bizarrely the on-field call but Alexandre Ruiz will be consulted…

Wales 10-6 England, 27 minutes
Another grubber, less effective on this occasion, as Josh Adams tries to get after his own kick through. It tumbles and trickles over the goal line and Anthony Watson forces it down.
George Ford takes the kick quickly and England’s chase is good, Wales stopped on halfway. Maro Itoje charges down another Kieran Hardy box kick, but is half-a-yard offside at the fringe of a ruck, according to the assistant referee. Wales kick towards the England 22.

Wales 10-6 England, 26 minutes
Mark Wilson is the target for Jamie George but he cannot find him above the springier and longer-limbed Adam Beard, who slaps the ball back for Wales. Henry Slade knocks on in the tackle to give scrum advantage Wales’ way, and Jonny May is forced out as he retreats and recovers Liam Williams’ grubber through.

Wales 10-6 England, 25 minutes
“You moved your head,” says Pascal Gauzere to a bemused Welsh front row as they are free kicked as they try to set the scrum. Ken Owens shakes his head.
England kick it high, Wales kick it higher, and the ball bounces out of play on halfway for an English lineout on the right.
