Windsor police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged homicide just days after a body was discovered at a Louis Avenue home.
The major crime unit has identified the victim as Lamont Rhue, a 55-year-old man from Windsor.
Officers were called to a residence in the 800 block of Louis Avenue on Tuesday at approximately 2 p.m. for a report of a deceased person.
Police deemed the death a homicide “following a thorough investigation and results from the postmortem.”
Friday evening, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the problem oriented policing unit located the suspect in the area of Erie Street West and Ouellette Avenue. He was arrested without incident.
Leon Quesnel, 33, of Windsor is charged with first degree murder and possession of a scheduled substance – fentyanyl.
The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
Investigators are asking anyone who had contact with the victim on or before Feb. 23 to call police. Anyone in the area with surveillance cameras are requested to check their footage between 2 p.m. Feb. 22 to 2 p.m. Feb. 23.
