In a recent podcast interview with The Wrestling Inc., WWE veteran referee Jimmy Korderas discussed WWE’s road to WrestleMania 37 and how it may pan out for Jey Uso and Roman Reigns following Elimination Chamber.
Koderas started off with, “I am somewhat excited,” when asked how his excitement level would be for WWE’s biggest event of the year. “With the stuff that’s going on SmackDown right now, Reigns has got me invested big time,”Korderas said, adding, “I think he’s found his groove, then having Edge come back,”got his attention.
The veteran referee’s remarks about Reigns may be due to the Tribal Chief’s swift title defense at the Elimination Chamber this year. He took on Daniel Bryan after he survived his Elimination Chamber match. However, when asked about if he liked the Elimination Chamber angle and Reigns’ victory, “Absolutely” was his prompt answer.
Referring to Bryan’s situation, Koderas noted that Bryan “was a sympathetic babyface.”However, he praised Bryan and said that “he went through a grueling match, selling his leg and knee, before going into a match with a fresh Universal Champion.”
Moving to the topic of Uso, Koderas shared his thoughts. As mentioned earlier the road to WrestleMania could see Uso involved in a Reigns storyline with Edge. “I’m wondering, does it lead down the road for Uso to finally have enough of his cousin’s ‘I’m the head of the table, I’m the head of the family’ kind of thing and see that kind of change and see that turn coming,” Korderas said.
In the interview, he also touched upon Uso’s possible team up with his brother.Korderas even shared his views on an idea of a Uso vs Bryan match at WrestleMania. He said that WWE has a lot of options when it comes to the current SmackDown main event scene.
On another match involving Uso vs Cesaro, Koderas said it “would be very good as well.” He also would’ve liked to see something bigger for Cesaro and eventually he’d like to see him getting there.
Finally talking about the rules, he said, “Sometimes different is good, and in that situation, I didn’t mind it as much.”
