More than 32.2 million Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the country so far.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Monday reported 2,483 new cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 1,857 recoveries and 13 deaths.
The total number of cases in UAE as of March 8 are 413,332 with 394,649 total recoveries. Death toll rises to 1,335.
The UAE has conducted over 32.2 million tests till date as part of the country’s massive screening programmes to combat the spread. However, the ministry has urged the public to cooperate and stick to the Covid-19 precautionary measures outlined by the government.

A new set of precautionary measures against Covid-19 was recently extended until the beginning of Ramadan in mid-April. The new rules cover various sectors and activities with shopping malls, hotel establishments, swimming pools and private beaches in hotels required to operate at 70 per cent capacity.
In Dubai, authorities shut down 47 tourism establishments and venues in two months as they stepped up Covid safety inspections. Overall, Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) and other authorities conducted 10,000 inspections of hotels and recreational facilities. A total of 274 violations were recorded, with about 89 per cent facilities committed to all safety rules.
Dubai was one of the world’s first cities to develop a detailed pandemic strategy, including a three-phase recovery plan for its tourism sector.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi issued the updated list of ‘Green List’ destinations, adding three more nations including Saudi Arabia.
Passengers arriving from these destinations will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures after landing in Abu Dhabi and will only be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi Airport.
The three countries that have been added include Kazakhstan, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
