The pharmacy at Windsor’s Costco location has begun booking COVID-19 vaccination appointments, and an online waiting list is now available for COVID-19 vaccination at Rexall locations in Windsor-Essex — just some of the local pharmacies participating in the province’s vaccination pilot project.
At 1 p.m. Wednesday, the Ontario government is expected to release a list of 330 pharmacies in three regions where doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine are being provided.
The target age group for the vaccinations is 60 to 64. The AstraZeneca vaccine is not recommended for those ages 65 or older.
The appointments are for first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Appointments for second doses are not available until four months’ time.
Along with Windsor-Essex, Toronto and the Kingston region are part of the project — planned by the provincial government in partnership with the Ontario Pharmacists Association.
