The much awaited Oppo Find X3 Pro is now official. It packs the latest and greatest that the company can offer on a flagship device. You find a rather interesting back design on the IP68 certified smartphone, which is manufactured from a single piece of glass. But it only gets more premium from here.
Design and multimedia
The front of the Find X3 Pro sports a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display. This has a 3,216 x 1,440 QHD+ resolution which works alongside the display’s variable refresh rate. In this regard, the smartphone’s display refresh rate can go between 5Hz and 120Hz, giving you both fluidity and battery savings.
During its presentation, Oppo emphasised how the display of the smartphone promises to deliver true-to-life colours which is thanks to its 10-bit Full-path Colour Engine. The curved panel also boasts a 240Hz touch sampling rate with a punch-hole 32MP seflie camera housed on the top left. Rounding up the experience are Dolby Atmos-certified stereo speakers.
Camera
Housed on its futuristic camera bump, you find a quad-camera setup on the Find X3 Pro. It features two 50MP Sony IMX766 units with a 1/1.56-inch sensor size each. While one of these is for the f/1.8 main lens, the other one is for the smartphone’s f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. The main camera also offers support for optical image stabilisation (OIS), electronic image stabilisation (EIS) and All Pixel Omni-directional PDAF for quite and accurate focus.
There is also a 13MP f/2.4 telephoto camera on the back of the smartphone featuring 5x hybrid zoom. But the 3MP macro camera that completes the setup seems to be the most interesting. This lets you zoom in really close (up to 60x) into subjects to see microscopic pieces on a surface. We are not sure how practical this will be but the approach is different for sure.
Performance
Running the show, you find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor. This comes alongside 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Thanks to the processor on board, the Find X3 Pro also supports 5G connectivity. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6E and NFC. Software wise, the smartphone comes with the latest ColorOS 11.2 on top of Android 11.
As a first for the series, the Oppo Find X3 Pro also comes with wireless charging support. The 4,500mAh battery can charge at 30W wirelessly through a dedicated stand going from 0-100 per-cent in 80 minutes. Of course, wired SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge is also an option, which allows you to charge the smartphone from 0-100 per-cent in around 30 minutes. Thankfully, both the charging brick and Type-C USB cable are provided with the Find X3 Pro out of the box.
Pricing and availability
The Oppo Find X3 Pro is available in either a Gloss Black or anti-glare Blue Matte finish. It will ship from 30 March for €1,149 (Dh5,042.42). Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the smartphone’s local pricing and availability at present although we hope the smartphone eventually makes it to the UAE.
