Sharon Osbourne defends Piers Morgan in viral video viewed over 500,000 times

Sharon Osbourne defended Piers Morgan on talk show The Talk on Wednesday, getting into a heated exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood. The clip of Osbourne telling Underwood not to cry has been viewed nearly 500,000 times on Twitter, as Osbourne is accused of weaponizing her tears.

Morgan left Good Morning Britain following his comments about Meghan Markle, including saying he did not believe that she felt suicidal, which she divulged in an interview with Oprah Winfrey which aired on Sunday.

Osbourne came out in support of Morgan on Tuesday when she tweeted: “@piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth,” before doubling down on her support on The Talk the following day.

In one clip from Wednesday’s show that has been viewed more than 300,000 times on Twitter, Osbourne told Underwood: “I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist.

“For me at 68 years of age to have to turn around and say, ‘I ain’t racist,’ what’s it got to do with me? How can I be racist about anybody… or anything in my life?”

After the break, in a clip that has been viewed more than 500,000 times, Osbourne said: “I will ask you again Sheryl. I’ve been asking you during the break, I’m asking you again, and don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me.

“This is the situation, you tell me where you have heard him say… Educate me. Tell me when you have heard him say racist things. Educate me, tell me.”

Underwood told Osbourne: “It is not the exact words of racism, it’s the implication and the reaction to it. To not want to address that because she is a Black woman and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is. That’s what makes it racist.

“But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and say that we’re attacking you for being racist.”

Osbourne scoffed and said: “I think it’s too late, I think that seed’s already sewn.”

Twitter account @dejatheviewpod shared the clip in a tweet and said: “karen osbourne begging to be canceled live on the talk right now”

Osbourne has faced backlash for her comments and has been accused of weaponizing her tears.

Comedian and writer Rae Sanni said: “This is Sharon Osbourne, telling a black woman not to cry and demanding a definition of racism, as she sobs over Piers Morgan who walked off his job bc a mixed black coworker calmly challenged his fixation on Meghan Markle. White women are something else. Your tears are weapons.”

Actress Yvette Nicole Brown said: “It was the ‘Educate me!’ for me. It is not a black woman’s job to educate ANYBODY about racism. The education one seeks is EVERYWHERE.

“Further telling someone they have no right to their tears while YOU’RE crying is just: *Viola grabbing her purse*”

Sex educator Dami “Oloni” Olonisakin said: “So tired of [Black women] having to deal with the tears of [white women] after being gaslit.

“Sharon Osbourne is 65 and doesn’t want to learn, she so ever clearly wants to cry and be defensive. I’m sure this lady still thinks racism is only when you call black people the N word. It is not.”
