Distribution of Iftar meals inside or in front of restaurants has been banned. Iftar tents outside mosques are banned as well. Meals can’t be distributed outside homes either.
Distribution is permitted in residential labour complexes, but the meals should be in boxes or bags that are tightly closed.
The police have warned that gatherings are not allowed and residents have to maintain a two-metre distance while wearing masks.

“Attention should be paid by restaurants to ensure hygiene, safety and health of cooks and service providers as well as their commitment to wearing masks and gloves,” it said.
Earlier this month, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman also cancelled all Ramadan tent permits in new Covid-19 rules for the holy month.
The holy month is expected to start from Thursday, May 13.
