Former Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson was secretly married in December to Eileen Park, the owner of a video production agency, according to a report.
A story posted in Vogue Magazine on Thursday details how the couple said “I do” under a maple tree on winter solstice in Stanley Park, but doesn’t mention that Robertson was the mayor of Vancouver. (Eds. note: Vogue later edited the story and added a reference to Robertson as “the longest serving mayor of Vancouver, British Columbia.”)
It says they were introduced at the C40 World Mayors Climate Summit in Copenhagen, where Robertson was representing the Global Covenant of Mayors as their ambassador.

Robertson was mayor of Vancouver for a decade before announcing in January 2018 that he would not seek re-election.
The article posts several photos of the nuptials by photographer Mathias Fast, both of them clad in the Scottish Robertson tartan.
Park told Vogue that she ordered the Robertson family tartan fabric from Lochcarron of Scotland, had it sewn by a tailor and draped it over her white dress, secured with a belt and a Celtic cloak clasp that Robertson gave her on the morning of their elopement.
Park is the founder of Anecdotia Media, a video production agency focused on climate and social-justice storytelling, according to the article.
She told the magazine they plan to travel to South Korea to celebrate in her family traditions at a later date.
Vogue Magazine quotes Park as saying she and Robertson connected over their favourite backpacking spots in the Pacific Northwest, and details how they dated long distance between Portland and Vancouver until COVID-19 hit and Robertson asked her to move to Vancouver.
According to Vogue, Robertson popped the big question to Park in August with a mountaintop proposal during a day-long hike in the mountains. They later decided to elope with a small ceremony in the woods.
Since Robertson separated from his wife of 30 years before the 2014 election, his romantic relationships have been under the spotlight. He previously dated pop star Wanting Qu and Shahrzad Rafati, the founder and CEO of Vancouver-based BroadbandTV.
