COPENHAGEN: Denmark said on Saturday that one person had died and another fell seriously ill with blood clots and cerebral haemorrhage after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccination. The two, both hospital staff members, had both received the vaccine less than 14 days before getting ill, authorities said. There were no further details.
Denmark, which halted using the vaccine on March 11, was among over a dozen nations that suspended its use after reports of cases of rare brain blood clots. Some countries, including Germany and France, reversed their decision to suspend following a probe by the EU’s watchdog that said on Thursday that the jab’s benefits outweigh the risks. Denmark said it needed more time to decide whether to use it.
