“This election seems to be a waveless election – the advantage will vest with the party that is able to organize and mobilise better on election day,” said a report based on the poll.
The report suggested that the AIADMK’s farm loan waivers and benefit programmes have helped the ruling party gain goodwill. The report said the impact of new political entrants such as Kamal Hassan’s MNM is adversely affecting the DMK alliance as it taking away some of the anti-incumbency vote that would have traditionally accrued to the primary opposition.
Besides, some traditional DMK vote is also being accrued to the MNM alliance, it said. What is, however, working for the DMK is that its alliance is being bolstered in the Pandya Nadu region and is benefiting with TTV Dhinakaran’s AMMK alliance weaning away a portion of the traditional AIADMK voters such as the Mukalathoor community, according to the report.
