Manchester United find a Premier League alternative to Jadon Sancho, while Tottenham and Arsenal are offered a winger – both in all the latest Paper Talk.
MAN UTD EYE PEDRO NETO
Manchester United are eyeing up a potential raid on Wolves this summer for star winger Pedro Neto, according to a report.
The Sun on Sunday claims that the 21-year-old has moved up Old Trafford chiefs’ transfer shortlist in recent months.
Indeed, he has reportedly become a ‘genuine’ alternative to the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish.
United have begun to show more attention to a raid for Neto amid his strong season for Wolves. The Molineux club have suffered a downturn in form this term, but Neto has proved a shining light up front.
The newspaper reports that United could have signed Neto in 2016. The one-time Portugal international arrived on trial from Braga, but failed to convince Carrington coaches.
Nevertheless, his rise since moving to Wolves has now caught the attention of United staff.
Neto, who moved to the Premier League from Lazio in the summer of 2019, played a bit-part role in his debut top-flight season.
However, following the departure of Diogo Jota to Liverpool in September, Neto has become a key star in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
Should United go for Neto, they would be following in the footsteps of the Reds, who have reaped the rewards of Jota’s form.
The Sun on Sunday adds that it would take around £51.5million for United to prise Neto away from his current employers.
